was founded in November 1996 as a joint venture at Bournemouth International Airport to develop a Ryanair tourist and travelers information desk to support their new Ryanair, Dublin to Bournemouth route, the initial demand was for information in connection with Bournemouth hotels and Dublin hotels, car hire and Ryanair low fares tickets. The route has been a tremendous success resulting in a second route to Frankfurt (hann) germany.

At that time, Bournemouth airport (hurn airport) or Ryanair had no Internet presence so the Latebreaks website was a valuable source of information for the airport and Ryanair tourists and travelers, it was also a very useful promotional tool for Bournemouth Airport, Ryanair and Latebreaks for promoting the Dublin to Bournemouth route and the Latebreaks website was used in connection with joint competitions and exhibitions.

Latebreaks has developed from a simple information desk at Bournemouth airport to be one of the UK's leading and most forward thinking online travel organizations, providing travel and travel related services through the Internet and the high street for the leisure and corporate traveler locally, nationally and internationally.

Ryanair offers one million "free" seats Business & Finance 17 Sep 2002

Ryanair is offering one million "free" seats across its 76-route network over the next three months to promote the launch of its customer service and low fares charter.

One quarter of the seats, on which passengers will only pay taxes, will be available on routes from Dublin. Michael Cawley, Ryanair's commercial director, said the free flights amounted to one third of the carrier's capacity over the promotion period.

"There are no restrictions. And the free flights cover the mid-term break for schools and the October bank holiday, a busy time for airlines,"

Cawley said the charter would let the media and passengers "judge" the airline, adding that it was Ryanair's response to the "smoke and mirrors policy of the high fares airlines".

He also said there was a lot of misinformation about Ryanair's standards and accused the Advertising Standards Authority of being "more vigorous in its scrutiny of the low fares carriers than the high fares

The airline also reiterated its commitment to safety and claimed that its order for 100 new Boeing aircraft would mean that by 2006, no Ryanair aircraft would be more than six years old.
