| Denmark warms up for a busy 2007 | Denmark is set to host a variety of events next year.
The first event of the year will be the Winter Jazz Festival, running in Copenhagen and the city of Odense.
Between January 26 and February 4th there will be over 200 jazz concerts in 40 clubs in the two cities, with many free events attracting thousands of Danes and tourists alike enjoying the music on offer.
Following on from the jazz, the music continues with the Aalborg Opera Festival. From March 1st to 12th, the small city – with around 150,000 inhabitants – welcomes the world's best in opera.
Opera buffs will see many world-renowned stars in the town for the festival, both on the stage and mixing with fans at town's cafes and restaurants.
However, those who like to party should head to Aalborg for its carnival in May. In total 100,000 people head to the Scandinavian version of Mardi Gras. For those tempted, the theme for this year's festivities is Mascarade.
Other events of note in the country include Copenhagen's fashion festival (March 28th to April 1st), Odense International Blues Days (April 27th to 29th), Frederikshavn's historic Days of Tordenskjold (June 29th and 30th) and Denmark's answer to Glastonbury, the Roskilde Festival (July 5th to 8th).
