France 'ideal' for spring sun chasers
With Christmas just gone the summer seems a long way away, and those impatient to feel the sun on their skin once again may find that they simply cannot wait much longer.
Indeed, increasing numbers of holidaymakers are seeking out the sunshine and booking holidays earlier in the year, and whilst it is only across the channel France could actually be the ideal place to escape the British weather and soak up some springtime rays.
During the spring the south of France enjoys twice as much sunshine as the UK, with resorts along the Mediterranean coast seeing the best of the weather.
According to experts France is at its sunniest when the Spring Equinox occurs on March 21st, with the Pyrenean region of the Cerdagne believed to be the sunniest place in the whole country.
And of course there are lots to do and see in France, with southern beach resorts offering excellent water sports and sunbathing and the more mountainous regions offering wonderful walks and wine tasting.
With more and more Brits now choosing to take advantage of the pleasant weather other countries enjoy during the early months of the year, France's springtime potential could soon be unlocked.
